Project Background
RIC.CI is a long-term research project curated by Marinella Guatterini spanning eleven volumes, dedicated to reconstructing overlooked works by Italian choreographers from the 1980s and 1990s. Pieces once considered academic or dated are brought back to life by new performers, creating a living archive of contemporary Italian dance.
Working with Roberta Cesani and Laura Zanetti, we designed the cover system and internal layout for the complete series. Each of the eleven books documents a single reconstructed work, with a visual language that needed to hold together across the entire collection while leaving room for the individual character of each choreographer and each piece.
The result is a series that reads as a coherent whole on a shelf and as a distinct object in the hand.
