Working on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion section at Fondazione Milano, I started looking closely at typefaces and typographic guidelines - and how the right font can make a real difference for people with dyslexia, low vision, or cognitive difficulties. One of the first interviews published about my typographic work. Frizzi Frizzi reached out when &type was just getting started — three people, a printing press, and the idea that movable type printing could still be something alive and contemporary. More than ten years later, it remains a useful document for understanding where everything else came from.

A double-page data visualisation inside an academic volume edited by Rossella Mazzaglia, Roberta Paltrinieri, and Alessandro Pontremoli. The book documents the Bod/y-z project, developed during the Bologna Portici Festival in 2023, a research on how Y- and Z-generation youths participate in contemporary dance and site-specific performance in public spaces.The infographic translates complex data into a readable visual system. Participant numbers by age group, laboratory activity across 101 days, spread across 16 locations in Bologna. Numbers that could have stayed in a spreadsheet, turned into a map of how a city moves.

ESSAY
RIC.CI is a long-term project directed by Marinella Guatterini that brings forgotten works by Italian choreographers from the 1980s and 1990s back to the stage. Pieces once considered outdated, reconstructed with new performers, continue to find audiences and leave something for younger artists to build on. Working with Roberta Cesani and Laura Zanetti, I designed the cover system and internal layout for all eleven volumes of the series. One book per choreographer, one visual language across the whole collection. This video documents the project and its reach across a decade of Italian contemporary dance.

The Letterpress Workers International Summit brings together letterpress practitioners from Europe and the Americas - printers, typographers, designers, calligraphers. In 2012 I took part in the residency, collaborating on an editorial project that produced a book and a series of posters. Working alongside people who had dedicated their practice entirely to movable type was one of the clearest moments of understanding why the hand still matters.
