I am Claudio Beretta, a bespoke lettering artist and creative director based in Milan.

My practice moves between two worlds that most people keep separate: handmade typography and visual identity design. For nearly twenty years I have worked with cultural institutions, festivals, premium brands, and communication studios, building identities where typography is never accidental.

In 2010 I co-founded &type with Gabriele Cecere and Simone Giorgio, a letterpress laboratory in Milan born from a shared obsession with drawing, cutting, and printing letters by hand. What started as a personal research into the physical life of letters became a decade of residencies, workshops, travelling markets, and work that eventually reached a billboard in New York. That practice still informs everything I do, whether I am designing a logotype on screen or painting a mural on a wall.

The thread connecting all of it is not a style. It is the quality of thinking behind each one.

I work from concept to production. Some of my collaborations have lasted a decade or more.
