&TYPE

Founded in 2010, &type started as a joint obsession among three friends - Claudio Beretta, Gabriele Cecere and Simone Giorgio - who met at the graphic design school and began to share their common passion for graffiti, comics, and music posters, and the lettering running through all of them.

What started as a way to preserve traditional typography in a digital age grew into a hands-on practice spanning antique book typography, calligraphy, and handmade lettering. Each piece is drawn first, then carved into linoleum, inked, and pressed - work that comes from the hand, not the keyboard.

Over the years &type collaborated with studios around the world, reaching a billboard in New York, running workshops on traditional letterpress printing, and travelling across Italy with our own market stall to bring the work directly to people.
